Portmanteau
For this project, we were assigned two objects at random and given the task of combining the two, making a portmanteau. My random objects were a cork screw and a chair.
A crucial aspect of this project is to identify Shared characteristics between the archetypes of the objects. The identified characteristics will become the design criteria.
The identified characteristics were both objects helped to facilitate relaxation, they are both very utilitarian, and accessible. That is what led me to create a public structure that served both as a bike rack and place to sit and rest.
